Code of Ethics
This is my personal code of ethics. As a PR Professional, I find it crucial to follow this code in order to create the best work for all.
Tolerance. While I may have my own views on religion, politics, and the world, I will not degrade or shame someone else for their own specific views. In order to learn and create the most accurate information, it is crucial to hear from every viewpoint accessible to me at the time. My strengths and skills will continually flourish if I choose not to close myself off to new opinions. I strive the be a public relations professional that sparks conversation from every side, and not a one-sided shouting match.
Transparency. I believe to be the best, you must show your true intentions in order to gain trust. In a world where corporations are plagued with greed and deception, it is extremely important to explain intentions when they are honest and pure. I never want to work for an organization that will not be truthful with their publics, because the public is the most important asset.
Selflessness. Selfishness and greed are what makes many companies thrive. But to be effective as a public relations professional, I must put other first and create material that will be beneficial to them and my company. As equity theory states, the best relationships are where both sides are giving and getting the same amount. I believe this is true in my life and in my work.
Authenticity. Whatever I do in life, it will be done because I believe in it wholeheartedly. I will use my true voice and personality to create what I believe to be true. I will stay true to myself.
